About Us:
Kichton Contracting is seeking a motivated and adaptable individual to join our team. Kichton Contracting Ltd (KCL) has been in business since 1963 and is based out of Acheson, Alberta, Canada. KCL is classified as a medium-sized civil earthworks contractor. Our work ranges from residential earthworks, commercial site development, to industrial projects. Our services include grading design for all types of new commercial and industrial sites along with retrofitting existing sites to accommodate new site development.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Follow and promote Kichton’s safety values and programs
- Check work quality and production metrics
- Perform toolbox talks with crews
- Complete site walkthroughs and ensure safety requirements are met
- Complete equipment inspections and repair requests
- Review first calls/drawings/grades with Supervisors and crew
- Order materials, trucking, rentals, subcontractors, and fuel
- Report and complete incident documentation and investigation
- Request survey as required
- Track and report site activities using Kichton internal system
- Track, review, and approve employee hours and expenses
- Test Operators to provide feedback and coaching
- Communicate regularly with Superintendents and Project Managers
- Operate equipment as required
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Minimum 5 years’ previous experience working in civil earthworks or underground infrastructure
- 2+ years’ site leadership experience
- Strong teamwork skills and positive attitude
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Valid CSTS2020 certification mandatory, Ground Disturbance II certification, H2S and Leadership in Safety Excellence would be an asset
- Adhere to commercial driving policy, including drug and alcohol testing
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Saturday
- 10-12 hour shifts per day
- Overtime if required
