We partner with businesses, nonprofits, community organizations, and industry stakeholders across Alberta to drive meaningful adoption of renewable energy technologies. As we continue expanding our partner ecosystem, we are seeking an energetic and motivated Partnership and Marketing Coordinator Intern to work directly with our Manager of Partnerships and Marketing.
This internship offers hands-on training in business development, stakeholder engagement, CRM operations, and general marketing operations within Alberta’s fast-growing clean-energy sector.
Position Overview
As a Partnership and Marketing Coordinator Intern, You will support Solar YYC’s partnership and marketing efforts with a focus on driving the adoption of renewable energy and electrification solutions across Alberta. Your work will directly contribute to increasing awareness, education, and implementation of clean energy technologies through stakeholder engagement, content creation, and community outreach.
You’ll help market and communicate green energy solutions, capture real-world solar projects and impact, and support the growth of partnerships that drive adoption of renewable technologies.
This role is ideal for students or recent graduates who want to build practical experience in sales, business development, marketing, research, and stakeholder engagement, especially in Alberta’s clean-energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
All responsibilities in this role are designed to support the growth, awareness, and adoption of renewable energy and clean technology solutions.
1. Outbound Partner Engagement
- Conduct outbound outreach to prospective partners via phone, email, and LinkedIn
- Assist in scheduling intro meetings, discovery calls, and exploratory discussions
- Represent Solar YYC professionally as a first point of contact
2. Prospect Research & Lead Generation
- Self-prospect new partner opportunities across Alberta
- Build and maintain contact lists using tools such as Apollo, HubSpot, and other sources
- Research organizations aligned with Solar YYC’s mission and value proposition
3. Event Participation & Networking
- Attend local networking events, industry mixers, and community engagements
- Support Solar YYC team at trade shows, conferences, and booth activations
- Actively represent the Solar YYC brand and help expand its presence
4. Partnership Administration
- Gather onboarding documentation from new partners
- Assist in completing the onboarding process end-to-end
- Maintain accurate CRM records and pipelines within HubSpot
- Prepare internal reports, summaries, and partner updates
5. Partner Outreach & Education
- Help execute ongoing partner engagement activities
- Webinars
- Lunch & learns
- Educational sessions
- Seasonal outreach campaigns
- Support content preparation and delivery
6. Support Research & Development (R&D)
- Assist in exploring new revenue opportunities, partner programs, and strategic models
- Conduct market research into electrification trends, incentive programs, and competitive offerings
7. Event Coordination & Execution
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of company events including trade shows, festivals, community activations, and internal staff events
- Act as an on-site support lead during events to ensure smooth execution, including booth setup/teardown, managing materials, and troubleshooting issues as they arise
- Capture live content and help communicate our presence in the clean energy space
8. Creative Strategy & Ideation
- Develop creative campaigns focused on renewable energy adoption, sustainability education, and electrification awareness
- Contribute to blogs, case studies, and educational content on green technology and energy trends
- Build a content pipeline that supports long-term brand growth
9. Content Creation & Capture
- Travel to job sites to capture photo, video, and drone content of solar installations
- Capture live content to showcase Solar YYC’s role in the clean energy space
- Create short-form content showcasing clean green energy projects and their real-world impact
- Help translate technical concepts into clear, engaging content for general audiences
Who You Are
- A current post-secondary student or a recent graduate (business, marketing, communications, sustainability, or related field preferred)
- Comfortable with outbound communication, both written and verbal
- Creative and idea-driven, with an interest in storytelling and content creation
- Personable, confident, and eager to network
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Curious, resourceful, and comfortable using modern software tools
- Passionate about renewable energy, sustainability, and community-focused business

Term Length & Eligibility
