Overview
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our expanding mobile mechanical services team in the Prince Rupert area. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of marine, transport, and heavy equipment in both shop and field environments.

Duties
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, trucks, and marine vessels.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine issues using diagnostic software, testing equipment, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Repair or replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized tools.
- Complete equipment assembly, disassembly, and component rebuilds as required.
- Install new equipment, accessories, and system upgrades.
- Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and work orders.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Provide professional service in both shop and on-site field service environments.
Skills
- Experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, transport vehicles, or marine equipment.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical diagnostics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.
- Welding and fabrication experience is considered an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to safely lift heavy components and work in physically demanding environments.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Valid driver's license.
