Who Are We Looking For?
Melanson Homes & Renovations is looking for a Residential Site Supervisor to join our growing team on a full-time basis. We are looking for a creative professional who is seeking a company to grow with. As a company that was founded on the foundation of construction, process & quality, we are looking for an individual who has a proven track record in Residential Custom Home Building and Renovations as a Project Manager, Site Supervisor or Site Superintendent. What will you do?
Reporting directly to the President and working with our entire team including sales, design, administrative staff, and carpentry teams you will oversee the on-site construction progress, project schedule, maintain client expectations & overall quality of all scopes of work from job start to possession & warranty. At Melanson, our projects are entirely custom, and you will need to be adaptive and willing to problem solve. You will work directly with and be the on-site contact of suppliers & trades working on each project. You will be required to visit all projects throughout your workday to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide the execution of all work in alignment of the approved plans, specifications, building codes and change orders ensuring meticulous attention to detail
- Complete regular site and quality control inspections using online Daily Logs
- Conduct onsite meetings with clients as required by set guidelines and client requests
- Supervise on-site labours, carpenters, and sub-contractors
- Cultivate and develop working relationships that foster creative solutions and a collaborative approach to completing projects onetime and within set project budget
- Monitor and maintain a safe and secure work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures relating to health and safety
- Ensure construction budgets, timelines and quality standards are met or exceeded
- Trade research, comparison, recruitment & tendering
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements
- Support the Design and Sales Departments
- Assess, list and complete service items that fall within warranty guidelines
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience Residential Custom Home Building and Renovations as a Project Manager, Site Supervisor or Site Superintendent.
- 3+ years of experience in Home Renovation field including complex home additions
- Custom Home & Luxury Renovation experience would be considered an asset
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in related field is an asset
- Hold a post-secondary degree or diploma in construction management, project management, disciplines will be of benefit
- Applicants with Moisture Control & Building on Alberta Soils will be given preference
- Experience in computer applications such as Excel, Word, Adobe, and Outlook are required
- Knowledge of residential construction and the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of BuilderTrend would be considered an asset
- Work independently and as part of a team on day-to-day tasks and projects
- Detail oriented and goal driven
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a multi-faceted work environment
- Previous experience with Job task planning, decision making and problem solving
- Ability to work in a team and maintain quality service
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Knowledge and familiarity with local residential construction industry an asset
- Knowledge of Alberta Building Codes
- Self-motivated, proactive, clean & professional, able to work efficiently with minimal supervision or as part of a team
- Must speak fluent English
- You will have a collaborative approach to delivering results through strong relationships with a network of professional colleagues, subcontractors, and team members
- Must provide a drivers abstract
