ACP’s Construction Division holds a strong focus as a subcontractor on tendered and negotiated work across Western Canada. We provide essential services to the road construction/maintenance industry. Our areas of specialization include: installation of roadside barriers including high tension cable barrier and guardrail, highway guide sign installation, bridge deck waterproofing and roadside delineation devices. We also provide highway surface and right of way maintenance such as spray patching, crack sealing, route and seal, and culvert repairs. Whether applied to road surfaces or bridge decks, bike trails or pedestrian crossings, our products and applications offer the optimal solution for all road maintenance and pavement preservation issue. ACP is now looking for motivated Labourers to complete our team for the upcoming season.

Flagger / Labourer in STONY PLAIN, ab

Full-time Seasonal Position

Anticipated Start Date of Employment: May 2018

Mains Duties & Responsibilities:
We are looking for a reliable individual who will be responsible for contributing in the daily operations on the company job sites. This position is part of the ACP Applied Products’ Construction Department. This position will be located out of Stony Plain, but will require constant travelling around western Canada. This will also include travelling out of the city and province when needed in order to travel to different job sites sometimes for extended periods of time. As a Flagger/Labourer you will be responsible for complying with safe working procedures and practices both on and off company job sites. You will be responsible for helping out with multiple different tasks and also helping to control the daily traffic in and around job sites, your jobs is to assess the environment and utilize safe practices to direct people and traffic in a safe manner. Versatility, flexibility and a positive attitude are required in this position. Your responsibility is to provide support services to both divisions in order to ensure effective and efficient operations can be completed.

A high school diploma or GED an asset
Valid driver’s license (Class 5) along with a recent abstract is required
Must own a reliable transportation
Ability to do physically demanding work
Flagging experience is considered an asset
Able to work in uncertain outdoor conditions
Be willing to work out of town for up to 3 week’s at a time (Work in AB, BC, NWT, SK & MB)
Have a willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required
Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
Able to work overtime hours when required
Must be able to write, read, and communicate effectively in English
Experience with safety regulations and safe practices
