Senior Staff Accountant
St. Arnaud Pinsent Steman Chartered Professional Accountants, will report to Dan St. Arnaud
Edmonton AB
Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for full-cycle accounting and the management of various bookkeeping, payroll, tax return preparation activities that are required by our clients.
Job Type:
Full-time, Permanent
Schedule:
- 40 hour work week
- Monday to Friday
- In office, not a virtual position.
Experience:
- Education :
- Related post secondary diploma or degree CPA Student enrolled or expecting to enroll
- Accounting: 2 - 3 years related experience in full cycle accounting (preferred), willing to train the right candidate
- Accounting Software: related experience with accounting software (Caseware, TaxCycle, Sage, QuickBooks, QBO, Xero, etc.)
Job Duties:
- Bookkeeping
- Preparation of financial statements (e.g. balance sheet, P&L, statement of cash flows)
- Preparation of Compilation statements and working papers
- Preparation of assurance engagements (Reviews and Audits)
- Tax preparation: T1 and T2
- Preparation of T4 and T5 slips
- Assist with payroll preparation and submission
- Providing support to partners and senior team management in related administrative tasks
- Work effectively with partners and the staff team
Skills & Abilities:
- Detail oriented with excellent organization and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills, written and in person
- Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills
- Able to complete work on deadlines and with little direct supervision
- Driven, self-motivated, and goal-oriented.
