Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our team for the upcoming construction season. This role involves operating tandems to safely and efficiently deliver materials and equipment to various locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, physical endurance for heavy lifting, and a commitment to safety and punctuality.
Duties
- Safely operate tandems to ensure materials and equipment are delivered.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload heavy equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, etc. often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation.
- Communicate effectively with Foremans regarding delays or issues on the road.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Skills
- Proven experience in driving heavy trucks or commercial vehicles with a clean driving record.
- Strong ability in heavy lifting, handling cargo safely, and managing physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent driving skills with knowledge of traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently, stay alert during long hours on the road, and handle unexpected situations professionally.
- Physical stamina for prolonged periods of driving and lifting heavy loads when necessary.
- Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail.
