About the Role
Anet Builders is hiring an experienced crew for the foundation construction of a telecommunications tower in Thunder Bay, Ontario. This is a short, intensive 7-10 day contract with competitive daily pay ($220-$300/day). We cover all travel and accommodation costs - candidates based in the GTA or Thunder Bay are equally welcome.
You'll work with a small, skilled crew building the concrete and steel foundation the tower will stand on - from excavation support and formwork through rebar, anchor bolt setting, pour, and finishing.
What You'll Do
- Set up and strip concrete formwork for tower pier/pad foundations
- Place and tie rebar cages to spec; assist with anchor bolt cage alignment and leveling
- Place, vibrate, and finish concrete pours
- Assist with excavation support, grading, backfill, and compaction
- Install grounding systems and embedded conduit as directed
- Read and follow foundation drawings and engineer specs
- Maintain a clean, safe worksite and follow all site safety procedures
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in concrete foundations, formwork, or structural concrete (telecom/utility/industrial foundation experience a strong asset)
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Comfortable with physically demanding outdoor work in variable weather
- Available for the full 7-10 day duration, away from home if GTA-based
- WHMIS required; Working at Heights and First Aid are assets
- Own CSA-approved steel-toe boots and basic hand tools
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Nice to Have
- Experience with telecom tower bases, anchor bolt setting, or heavy equipment spotting
- Rod-busting (rebar) or concrete finishing tickets
- Valid G driver's licence
