About the position
We have F/T vacancies in our Grip Department. Regular business hours during the week, 8:00am until 5:00pm.
Our Warehouse Crew take great care ensuring equipment is appropriately pulled, received, cleaned, inspected, and available for customer rental. This means certifying equipment is safe, fully operational, and prepared to the highest standard for client use. This is a repetitive role that includes working directly with customers, building rapport and responding to immediate inquiries.
If you don’t mind getting your hands dirty from hauling sandbags to cleaning rain-soaked fabrics to utilizing power tool skills, the Grip Department is great fit for you! Grip is responsible for the movement and safety of lighting and camera equipment. You are responsible for pulling equipment and tools that are working quietly behind the scenes that brings a film to life.
We’re looking for individuals who like to stay busy, enjoy being active while working, and are fond of working within a team.
How you’ll contribute:
- Pull and ship orders following Lighting, Grip, Cable and Swing shipping processes as required
- Visually check equipment to ensure there is no visible damage, all pieces accounted for and in good working condition
- Assemble as necessary and test equipment prior to shipment
- Have a keen eye to spot damaged equipment, flag, and refer defective equipment to the appropriate party
- Conduct all duties expeditiously in a safe and careful manner to minimize damage
- Process work assignments as designated by Department Manager
- Perform RTPro functions as directed by Department Manager, could include staging/scanning/printing barcodes, status inquiries, and quality control activities.
- Direct customer enquiries/complaints to the Rental Coordinator, Customer Service Representative or Department Head as appropriate
- Strong product knowledge of equipment’ continuously building knowledge of equipment including their uses and locations
- Ability to operate company vehicles, forklift, and other material handling equipment
- Top notch customer service skills, supporting crew members both internally and externally
Qualifications:
- Experience in a rental warehouse environment
- Film production experience is an asset
- Previous customer service experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Can do attitude
- Interpersonal skills
- The ability to work within a team
- Reliable, and available to do overtime, including weekends, to support client needs as needed.
- Able to meet the physical demands of the job; maneuver awkward rental gear and able to consistently lift average 60 lbs. as required
