The Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) is a federal government organization responsible for the prosecution of criminal offenses under federal jurisdiction. Our organization consists of approximately 1000 employees in regional offices across the country who all play a key role in strengthening Canada’s criminal justice system. The PPSC handles the prosecution of all Criminal Code offences in the territories as well as offences under all other federal legislation, such as the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and the Fisheries Act.
The Quebec Regional Office is a bilingual workplace that is located in the Guy-Favreau complex in Montreal. This building is connected to the underground tunnel system and has easy access to public transit, including the subway.
The Quebec Regional Office (QRO) is located in Montreal; there are also a few prosecutors working in Quebec City. QRO prosecutors and agents are responsible for federal prosecutions in all of Quebec’s judicial districts, except those in Gatineau, Pontiac, and Labelle.
Intent of the process
The immediate need is to staff one position with a French Essential language requirement.
The results of this process may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, term, etc.), linguistic requirements (bilingual imperative, English or French essential, etc.), linguistic profiles (CBC/CBC, BBB/BBB, etc.) and/or security requirements (reliability, enhanced reliability, secret, etc.) within the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
- Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Experience in providing administrative support services.
- Experience processing and distributing correspondence.
If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)
Asset Qualification - Education:
- Successful completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate in a law related field.
Asset Qualifications - Experience:
- Experience working in a legal environment.
- Experience in providing administrative and operational support to a legal practitioner.
- Experience using an electronic information management system.
- Ability and willingness to work outside normal working hours which may include working evenings and weekends based on operational needs.
