Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a commercial truck to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the truck to ensure it is in good working condition
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts or other heavy equipment
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving, including maintaining a safe speed and obeying all road signs
- Communicate with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and ensure timely transportation of goods
- Complete necessary paperwork, such as delivery receipts and logbooks, accurately and in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with experience in freight transportation
- Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures to handle minor repairs or emergencies on the road
- Familiarity with operating heavy equipment, such as forklifts, to safely load and unload cargo
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines and maintain an efficient schedule
