The Research Associate will coordinate and support research studies involving children, adolescents, and young adults with neurodevelopmental disorders and epilepsy. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the recruitment of research participants including contacting eligible patients, obtaining consent and scheduling study visits. They will support data acquisition by coordinating imaging sessions and assisting with procedures for MRI, fNIRS, EEG and related imaging modality assessments. They will administer and score standardized cognitive, behavioural and neuropsychological assessments, manage research databases, perform quality control procedures for clinical datasets, and maintain accurate study records in compliance with institutional ethics and privacy requirements. The Research Associate will contribute to data processing, statistical analyses, interpretation of findings and preparation of reports such as research manuscripts, conference abstracts, presentations and knowledge translation activities. They will support the development of internal and external grant applications and assist with ethics submissions, protocol amendments, annual renewals and regulatory documentation. The Research Associate will coordinate activities across collaborating research teams, facilitate communication among stakeholders, provide mentorship and training to students and research personnel involved in ongoing projects, and contribute to the planning and implementation of new research initiatives focused on brain development, neurodevelopmental disorders and epilepsy.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as Neuroscience
Experience:
- 2 years' working experience in a related academic research environment
- Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy- Familiarity with University research policies and practices
