Reporting to the Manager, Compensation, Pension and Benefits the role is one of two positions responsible for coordinating the full-time and part-time compensation and pension oversight for their respective client groups. The incumbent must ensure compliance with the Collective Agreements, Terms and conditions of Employment, College Policies and Procedures and Provincial legislation.
The incumbent researches compensation structures and provides recommendations for ongoing liability issues and wage equity maintenance for all employee compensation schemes monitors and provides data and potential solutions for ongoing liability issues.
The incumbent is responsible for leading the coordinating, processing, monitoring and reporting of information/data as it relates to the Pension Plan for all College employees.
This includes the communication of specific and general information to groups and individuals, the annual reconciliation of contributions and the resolution of problems related to pension issues and the maintenance and reporting of accurate data and documentation. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the College’s compliance with the plan text of the CAAT Pension Plan, relevant legislation, and College Policies and Procedures.
Minimum three (3) year Diploma/Degree in Human Resources or a related field of study;
Minimum five (5) years of experience in the following:
Coordinating and completing compensation and pension plan related activities;
Interpreting policies, directives, collective agreements and legislation;
A unionized environment;
Compiling, formatting and delivering reports
Excellent client service skills, empathy, communication (written and spoken), problem solving and resolution and time management;
Analytical and numeracy skills;
Ability to work in a highly confidential manner with all work related contacts and exercise a high degree of tact and discretion;
Ability to work tight deadlines and in busy cyclical payroll schedules;
Experience with Human Resource Information Systems;
Must possess the training, experience and knowledge to organize the work and its performance;
Ability to work well independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment;
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written;
Strong interpersonal skills combined with excellent judgment and decision-making abilities;
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
RPA Certification and/or experience with HRIS would be considered an asset.
