Human Resources Coordinator

We are looking for a highly organized and people-focused Human Resources Coordinator to support the day-to-day human resources functions of our organization. This role partners with managers and employees across multiple locations to help maintain a positive workplace culture while ensuring HR policies, processes, and employee programs are administered effectively.
The successful candidate will support employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, HR compliance, workforce planning, and employee engagement initiatives while serving as a trusted resource for both employees and management.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & HR Support
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace practices.
- Assist managers with employee relations matters, workplace concerns, performance management, and policy interpretation.
- Support disciplinary processes by ensuring appropriate documentation and procedures are followed.
- Conduct exit interviews and assist with offboarding activities.
- Promote a positive and respectful workplace culture.
Employee Onboarding & Orientation
- Support employee integration and engagement initiatives.
- Manage employee orientation workshops
Performance Management
- Maintain job profiles and ensure role documentation is current.
- Coordinate the organization's performance review process.
- Monitor performance review completion and provide reminders and support to managers.
- Assist in developing tools, training, and resources to support employee development and performance management programs.
Employee Engagement
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives and annual employee surveys.
- Assist with survey analysis, reporting, and follow-up action planning.
- Support employee recognition programs and company culture initiatives.
- Maintain employee communication resources and policy manuals.
HR Administration & Compliance
- Maintain accurate HR records and personnel files in coordination with Payroll.
- Ensure HR documentation is updated, organized, and compliant with applicable legislation and company policies.
- Prepare reports and track HR metrics including turnover, performance review completion, and workforce data.
- Assist with ensuring compliance with employment standards, privacy requirements, and other regulatory obligations.
- Support with WCB and Disability Management
Benefits & Payroll Support
- Act as a point of contact for employee benefit inquiries.
- Liaise with benefits providers and support employee understanding of benefit programs.
- Work closely with Payroll to ensure timely communication of employee changes and updates.
Organizational Planning
- Support leadership with workforce planning and HR initiatives.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Help identify opportunities to improve employee experience, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications
Required
- 2-4 years of direct experience in Human Resources, HR Administration, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of HR principles, employment legislation, and workplace best practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, or a related field.
- CPHR designation, or working toward designation, is considered an asset.
- Experience supporting employee benefits, performance management, and employee relations.
- Experience in a multi-location environment is considered an asset.
- Interprovincial employment standards experience is considered an asset.
