Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver (owner operator)to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a valid driver’s license, strong navigation skills, and the ability to operate heavy equipment when necessary. The Delivery Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring our clients receive their orders accurately and on schedule, contributing to overall customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver products to customers and clients across designated routes
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Verify delivery orders for accuracy before departure and upon arrival at destinations
- Maintain proper documentation of deliveries, including receipts and delivery logs
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery status or delays
- Assist with warehouse duties such as freight handling or inventory management when required
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation activities
Skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving and freight transportation preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely
- Basic automotive repair knowledge is a plus for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
- Strong navigation skills with familiarity of local routes and GPS systems
- Excellent time management skills to ensure punctual deliveries
- Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
- Physical ability to lift heavy items and perform manual tasks as needed
