Wealth Management Operations – Mutual Funds, Analyst
We are currently seeking a Mutual Funds, Analyst to join our Dealer Operations team supporting the Nesbitt Burns Dealer platform. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of time sensitive mutual fund trade orders, analyzing trade requests deemed “NIGO – Not in Good Order” and for incoming the necessary steps to ensure all information and documentation is received in good for processing. The incumbent is also responsible for providing prompt and courteous service to internal and extremal business partners, branches and Issuers. Areas of focus will fluctuate as business needs or priorities change.

Key responsibilities of this role are:
Performs a variety of Operation functions: Processes adjustments, payments, settlements, reconciliation and other administrative functions as directed.
Performs reconciliations to ensure compliance is adhere to.
Responds to routine account and production related enquires from business partners, both internal and external.
Reviewing transactions entered by advisors
Provides support to Branches, internal business partner and manufacturers on the process of mutual funds trades within accounts. This may involve researching transactions with manufacturers/Branches to resolve why a transaction has rejected and determining the best course of action.
Monitor and clear Workflow/Capture items within Service Level Agreements (SLA)
Assist with testing on system upgrades and rollouts
Responds to incoming trade needs from advisors by phone, email and trading applications. Has a thorough understanding of domestic mutual fund and FX, etc.
Researches and answers inquiries from internal and external partners, such as Client Information Centre, financial advisors and fund companies regarding products and processing issues.
Ensures all appropriate controls regarding account Redemptions, Purchases, Switches, etc. are in place prior to executing request.
Prioritizes and schedules transaction processing, working within the accepted industry and department established time frames, while adhering to internal audit standards.
Participates in the maintenance and creation of department policies and procedures, while providing recommendations for improvements to direct Manager and Team Lead.
Participates in special projects and carries out any other similar or general task at the request of their direct people manager or that may be required by their function.
Investigate and research account-related issues and determine the appropriate actions that need to be taken to achieve resolution to such issues.
What do you need to succeed?

3-5 years’ working experience in a client service, operations or relationship management role within the financial services industry preferably in the GIC industry/ Mutual Fund.
Research and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a high volume, dynamic team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
The ability to work under time constraints.
Self-motivated and proactive.
Nice to have
Experience in FIS, Broadridge, Fundserv, Charles Rivers
