We are searching for a Sr Logistics Coordinator to join our Logistics team. You will assist the Logistics Manager and Shipping/Receiving team with daily shipping activities.
Role Summary:
You will work cohesively with the Logistic Manager and Client Services preparing/planning shipments and completing paperwork for domestic and international shipping. The Sr logistics coordinator will also assist the Manager to arrange the transportation of inbound and outbound shipments including negotiation of freight rates and will interact with freight forwarders, third-party warehousing and transportation companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shipment Monitoring: Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments, adjusting schedules around holidays, weather, and vehicle maintenance.
- Driver & Route Management: Coordinate drivers using route optimization software and provide real-time updates on traffic, construction, and weather conditions.
- Specialized Asset Management: Manage smart container logistics, including route scheduling, vendor communication, and reporting.
- Carrier & Vendor Management
- Rate Negotiation: Communicate with freight forwarders, carriers, and 3PL companies to negotiate rates and provide quarterly pricing updates.
- Financial Administration: Create POs for supplies, generate parcel courier labels, and coordinate with finance and internal teams for customer freight billing.
- Cross-Functional Support: Partner closely with customer service teams to align shipment methods with client demands and preferences.
- Inquiry Resolution: Investigate and resolve internal and external shipping inquiries promptly.
- Reporting: Compile and distribute weekly status reports and track inbound/outbound cost data for management.
Ideal Candidate:
- Post-Secondary education in business or supply chain management with experience in international logistics and/or international trade is ideal.
- 3+ years experience in the logistics industry with working knowledge of current international trade, export regulations procedures, and a willingness to continue education in this discipline as necessary
- Knowledge with Load boards (LoadLink)
- Knowledge with Route Optimization Software
- Excellent Administrative/Microsoft office/MRP skills
- Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Greentec is committed to investing in your future, we offer training, competitive compensation, annual profit sharing and group benefit package. The annual pay range for this position is $60,000 – $70,000 CAD. The pay offered for this role may be influenced by the candidate's qualifications, education, and experience.
