The Quality Coordinator is an integral part of the FRPD HSEQ team. Reporting to the Project Manager or Quality Manager, the Quality Coordinator plays an important role in ensuring that products, services, and processes meet established quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. This role involves conducting inspections, tests, and audits throughout the project lifecycle.
The Sr. Quality Co-ordinator is an integral part of the HSEQ Team, supporting the company processes but also field activities and requirements during project execution. Reporting to the Quality Manager and to Project Managers when assigned to a project. The Sr. Quality Co-ordinator plays an important role in managing all aspects of the quality processes and programs, and ensure the timely completion and meeting of expectations for all quality-related projects and elements, while maintaining long-term stakeholder relationships and managing and mentoring junior quality staff and other team personnel.
Key functions include involvement in Integrated Management System (ISM) audits, review and update of the IMS, development and implementation of new Quality Process documents, management of KPIs, and lessons learned and best practices. This includes focus on quality and continuous improvement with the goal of meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain quality documentation according to established manuals, programs and procedures as required by FRPD’s Quality Management System;
- Manage set-up and execution of the quality function on projects as assigned including identification, development and submission of documents requiring review and approval, ensuring that current references are available.This may include but not be limited to ;
- Preparation of Project Quality Control Plans including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
- Maintenance of quality documentation and review test results
- Maintenance of quality control tracking logs
- Conducting site quality inspections to ensure compliance to the relevant project specifications
- Updating & revising the Quality Questionnaire for Projects documentation
- Conducting audits as required
- Supporting the Projects as required including the Quality Co-ordinators
- Implement and maintain the company Quality Management System and Integrated Management System
- Prepare Construction Quality Control Plans including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
- Support the Quality Manager on the implementation of Quality Assurance procedures on SharePoint & EDMS (Aconex)
- Update quality control tracking logs
- Perform internal Combined Audits of our Integrated Management System in accordance with ISO business management standards
- Support the Quality Manager in preparing audit reports based on audit findings
- Conduct external audits of subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
- Prepare for and support the respective Operations Personnel during external audits done by others
- Support Operations by reviewing Quality related information during Bid /Tenders process
- Raise Opportunities for Improvement (OFI’s) via the HSEQ Site Audits (Reports)
- Facilitate and monitor the timely implementation of non-conformance reports and corrective actions as identified
- Champion the document control process of records via SharePoint & EDMS on Aconex software
- Maintain electronic documentation / management platforms such as Alcumus SafeContractor, Avetta, ISNetworld, and Veriforce ComplyWorks, by ensuring that all hiring clients are in good standing
- Driving continuous improvement in quality management based on the Plan-do-check-act (PDCA) Deming cycle.
- Develop customer service standards and investigate customer complaints
- Support the Executive Management on ensuring compliance to legal requirements
- Support Health & Safety in preparation for annual COR Audits
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Post secondary education such as Diploma of Technology in Civil Engineering or other related discipline or
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other related discipline
- 4-5 years of progressive experience in quality management on infrastructure projects and possibly maritime operations;
- Working knowledge of pertinent regulations, codes and specifications related to the construction industry (OPSS, OH&S, MTO, AT, BCMOT, etc.);
- Adept in technical or operational aspects of safety management;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of procedure-writing and formatting with flow charts and/or flow lines
- Experience in interpreting project specifications and engineering drawings
