Job Summary:
This role involves carefully assessing potential suppliers, measuring purchasing success, sourcing new parts for our evolving (new) product line, and closely aligning with our R&D team for design-centric decisions. This person will have a mix of creativity, technical expertise, and an in-depth understanding of the B2B automotive supplier market.
Key Responsibilities:
● Collaborate with sales/program managers in RFQ activities, providing support for sourcing decisions.
● Source and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
● Prepare purchase orders and send them to the approved suppliers (Blanket and Spot buy)
● Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing activities to prevent shortages or overstocking.
● Negotiate prices, terms and delivery schedules with suppliers.
● Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
● Track orders and ensuring timely delivery
● Coordinate with internal departments (production, logistics, finance) to understand material needs.
● Resolve issues related to delivery delays, pricing discrepancies or quality problems
● Maintain strong supplier relationships and assist in vendor performance evaluations.
● Oversee and manage potential risks and issues within the supply chain, ensuring successful program launches.
● Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures
● Apply financial analysis tools to evaluate supplier viability, cost structures, and risks to ensure strategic sourcing decisions.
● Perform market intelligence studies and competitive benchmarking to stay abreast of industry trends.
● Develop strategic partnerships with suppliers, establish new relationships, and conduct regular assessments to ensure alignment with our corporate objectives.
● Assist and support the construction of a robust purchasing infrastructure by introducing processes such as sourcing board reviews, KPI assessments, supplier approval and reassessment procedures, and standardized templates.
● Oversee and manage potential risks and issues within the supply chain, ensuring successful program launches.
● Collaborate with our China purchasing team to leverage valuable insights and information.
● Perform other duties or assignments as required.

● On time finish the program RFQ and sourcing activities
● Supplier performance on successful supplier launches and the quality of parts sourced
● Efficacious supplier negotiations, cost savings year on year.
● Effectiveness of collaboration with internal teams and global purchasing.
● Effectiveness of collaboration with internal teams and China purchasing
Qualifications:
● University/College degree, preferably with a business or technical focus. A Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) diploma is a plus.
● Prior experience in a purchasing role within the automotive industry (Tier 1 or Tier 2).
● Knowledge of production manufacturing
● Demonstrated ability for continuous improvement, with a proactive approach to streamlining and enhancing purchasing processes.
● Exceptional skills in navigating under ambiguity, with a forward-thinking approach to problem-solving that starts with identifying the objective and then working backwards, while engaging stakeholders along the way.
● Ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment with minimal supervision.
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
