The Senior Genotyping Sales Specialist, Northeast position is part of the commercial organization supporting the Genetic Sciences Division (GSD) portfolio which provides high-value genomic data to assist critical decisions in research and applied markets - Quantitative PCR | Sanger Sequencing | Human Identification | AgriGenomics.
Based remotely in Philadelphia, New York City, Boston, or Toronto to cover NE US, Ontario and Quebec.

Position Summary:
The Senior Genotyping Sales Specialist, Northeast position is a field sales-based position responsible for the Axiom and AgriSeq product lines for all applications in the northeastern US and eastern Canada. Core responsibilities include creating sales opportunities and forecasting as a function of a defined sales plan with sales targets. The candidate will drive the company’s genotyping platform in the academic, industrial and pharma markets by working with marketing and global business units to understand and prioritize all genotyping opportunities worldwide, and partner with local account managers to identify potential leads. Primary responsibilities include:
Generate, qualify and close sales leads in all markets requiring a genotyping solution
Identify and nurture market-specific Key Opinion Leaders
Build relationships with key customers to promote penetration, retention and loyalty
Create and present weekly and quarterly regional forecasts
Direct the growth of business by capturing new accounts
Provide market intelligence that influences the strategic plan
Identify competitor activities and develop tactical activities

Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience. A Master’s or PhD degree is desirable.
Must have scientific consulting acumen - extensive experience with molecular biology techniques and genotyping applications.
Minimum 5+ years’ sales experience in Life Science focused on selling into the genomics market and knowledge of the potential customer base.
Ability to travel over 50% within the territory.
