Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder specializing in stainless steel to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding, fabrication, and assembly, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. This position offers an opportunity to work on complex projects involving ductwork, structural components, and precision metal fabrication. The role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and proficiency with various tools and equipment to ensure high-quality welds and adherence to safety standards.
Duties
- Perform TIG welding on stainless steel components following detailed blueprints and schematics
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and press brake machines for fabrication and assembly tasks
- Rig and position materials using cranes or forklifts as needed for welding or assembly processes
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and measurements with calipers and other measuring instruments
- Operate machining equipment to prepare parts for welding or assembly
- Conduct quality checks on welds using basic math skills and inspection tools to ensure specifications are met
- Assist in the assembly of ductwork, structural frameworks, or other fabricated components
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and proper handling of materials and equipment
Experience
- Proven experience in TIG welding with stainless steel in a manufacturing or construction environment
- Familiarity with MIG welding, plasma cutting, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Mechanical knowledge related to rigging, machining, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and assembly processes
- Experience operating cranes, forklifts, press brake machines, or similar equipment is preferred
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately and perform basic math calculations for measurements and fit-up tasks
- Knowledge of ductwork fabrication, construction standards, or related fields is a plus
- Prior experience working with schematics, hand tools, welding techniques, and manufacturing processes is highly desirable
