EcoSynthetix is a renewable chemicals company specializing in bio-based materials that are used as inputs in a wide range of products. The Company offers a range of sustainable biopolymers that allow customers to reduce their use of harmful materials, such as formaldehyde and styrene-based chemicals, and enable carbon footprint reductions. The Company’s flagship products, DURABIND, ECOSPHERE BIOLATEX, SURFLOCK, and BIOFORM biopolymers, are used to manufacture wood composites, paper, paperboard, tissue and personal care products, and enable performance improvements, economic benefits and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for the coordination and processing of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close, activities and core deliverables
- Management of the Company’s periodic inventory accounting system including calculating FIFO unit costing, preparing monthly book to physical entries and assessing inventory for impairment
- Consolidation of operating legal entities including preparation of legal entity financial statements for tax purposes
- Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements for TSX listed company
- Maintenance of appropriate financial reporting control processes required for N1 52-109 internal control framework
- Support preparation of EcoSynthetix's quarterly Audit Committee and Board of Directors reporting packages
- Support preparation of internal EcoSynthetix department performance scorecards
- Support annual audit with EcoSynthetix's external auditors
- Provide business support for ad-hoc requests for information and analysis
- Support preparation of EcoSynthetix annual budget/quarterly forecasts
- Stay up to date on IFRS developments and any potential impact to EcoSynthetix
- Special projects as needed
Qualifications
- CPA designation required
- Three to five years of related accounting experience with a large public accounting firm (preference given to those with experience with manufacturing and/or off-site warehouses and periodic inventory)
- Strong technical accounting skills under IFRS
- Excellent time management skills with demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and deadlines
- Sound judgment, diplomacy and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is preferred
