Crescent Point is currently seeking to fill the following position:
Job Title: Senior Reservoir Engineer
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Reports to: Manager, Reservoir Engineering
Employment Type: Permanent Full Time
Purpose:
The Senior Reservoir Engineer at Crescent Point will be responsible for assisting the management of the company’s unconventional assets in North Dakota’s Williston Basin. The individual will assist with development planning and optimization, reservoir evaluation and reserves estimation.
Main Responsibilities & Activities:
Reservoir engineering of a wide range of projects relating to Crescent Points North Dakota Bakken Asset
Create short term and long-term development strategies with focus on completion and well spacing optimization using a variety of reservoir engineering tools (reservoir modelling, rate transient methods and advanced analytics)
Identify value adding opportunities such as reactivations, refracs and high-grading development drilling locations
Coordinate and analyze well tests and other subsurface data and integrate into reservoir understanding and decision making workflows
Optimize well spacing, landing patterns, and completion design using reservoir engineering methods and analytics in support of the asset team
Organization and analysis of technical studies, such as advanced core analysis and reservoir simulations as required to progress reservoir characterization and delineation
Assist with resource applications to the respective regulators
Present projects as required to various levels of management and 3rd parties
Play a key role in the evaluation of potential acquisitions, ranging from property to corporate evaluations
Assist in the corporate reserve process with our independent engineering consultants
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required
5 -10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry as a reservoir engineer preferably on shale assets
P. Eng designation with or the ability to get APEGA membership
Experience with RTA on unconventional assets
Strong programming skills (Python preferred) with statistics and machine learning knowledge
Experience in constructing dashboards in Spotfire or Power BI
Reservoir Simulation (CMG or Resfrac) experience
Operations, production and/or completions experience is required
Strong communication and computer skills
Enthusiastic, motivated, and strong team player
Ability to work in an aggressive and dynamic work environment
Comfortable making presentations
