Business Solutions Consultant – Document Control

The role of the Business Solutions Consultant is to plan, implement and maintain best practices in the areas of document control and project management. The selected candidate will be involved in and responsible for various projects related to document management, from identifying needs to researching solutions to implementation and maintenance.

The ideal candidate has the necessary familiarity with the challenges associated with the position, along with the interpersonal skills and versatility, to develop customized solutions for our clients and to optimize collaborative platforms.


Act as a key resource person for the coordination and integration of information among the various stakeholders involved in projects with a view to ensuring their success;
Assume responsibility for the planning and implementation of document management procedures in connection with major projects or project offices;
Formulate recommendations based on the business needs of the client, and provide support to the client in researching the optimal solution in connection with the document management and/or project management platform;
Play a leading role in business development and in developing the Document Control Department in the Project Management sector;
Coordinate the resources assigned to projects;
Disseminate information to the teams involved in projects, and ensure that the transfer and sharing of information complies with network security standards;
Manage the control records required for projects;
Master every aspect of integrated document management (IDM) and/or electronic document management (EDM);
Receive and process all input, correspondence and deliverables (analysis, indexation, classification);
Assume responsibility for planning and codification related to the WBS;
Organize the reception, transmission, codification, classification and preservation procedures for all incoming and outgoing documents related to the projects in question;
Produce project management reports.


Minimum of 7 years of experience in information management;
Experience in business analysis: needs analysis, issuing of recommendations and client support;
Proven proficiency in data manipulation and the use of various software applications;
Post-graduate education in a related field;
Understanding of project management;
Master’ degree or PMI is an asset;
Familiarity with the latest document management and project management technologies;
Familiarity with and/or experience in paperless environments;
Excellent knowledge of Office 365 suite;
Ability to analyze new technologies in collaboration with IT;
Familiarity with collaborative platforms related to BIM processes;
Mastery of at least one IDM/EDM application (e.g.: Sharepoint, BOX, BIM360, Aconex, ProjectWise or other similar tools);
Bilingualism (required)
Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team and build a network of collaborators;
Heightened sense of organization, flexibility, resourcefulness and autonomy;
Ability to train users and manage at team is an asset;
Experience in an engineering or project management environment is an asset.
