Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Powder Coating Painter to join our client. In this role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality powder coatings to a variety of metal products, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and experience working within a manufacturing environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic production process focused on precision and efficiency.
Duties
- Prepare metal components for coating by cleaning, masking, and sanding as necessary to ensure proper adhesion.
- Operate cranes and forklifts to move heavy parts safely within the production area.
- Set up and adjust spray booths and powder coating equipment in accordance with specifications.
- Apply powder coatings using spray guns, ensuring even coverage and adherence to quality standards.
- Inspect finished products for defects, touch up areas as needed, and perform quality control checks.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment to uphold safety and efficiency standards.
- Assist with assembly, machining, or welding tasks when required to support production flow.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge related to machinery, tools, and equipment used in coating processes.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding, and basic machining techniques.
- Strong understanding of assembly processes and quality inspection procedures.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations relevant to measurements and coating thickness.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices to promote continuous improvement.
- Good communication skills for collaboration with team members across departments.
