This is a ground-floor opportunity: you'll help shape a growing commercial/industrial division, including the launch of our electrical services offering.
Job Overview
We're looking for an Apprentice Electrician to work alongside our Master Electrician and lead technician on commercial and industrial installations. You'll gain hands-on electrical experience while being trained on the technology side — surveillance, access control, and building automation systems most electricians never get exposure to.
You will assist with the installation, wiring, and support of:
- Commercial video surveillance systems, including AI video analytics platforms (Scylla AI — gun detection, perimeter intrusion, object detection, false alarm filtering)
- Access control and electronic locking systems (Kantech locking systems)
- HVAC automation and building controls — a key growth area for us
- Commercial and industrial electrical work supporting our installations and standalone electrical projects
- Control4 automation systems (smaller portion of the role)
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Registered Apprentice Electrician with Skilled Trades Alberta (1st or 2nd year), or actively enrolled/eligible to register
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean abstract
- Ability to pass a criminal record check (required for security industry work)
- Comfortable working on commercial and industrial job sites, including lifts, ladders, and mechanical rooms
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to learn new systems
Strong Assets (or willingness to be trained):
- Exposure to CCTV/IP camera systems, NVRs, and VMS platforms
- Interest in access control, electronic locks, door hardware, and low-voltage systems
- Interest in building automation / HVAC controls (BACnet, Modbus, thermostat and RTU controls)
- Networking fundamentals (IP addressing, PoE, switches, VLANs)
- Alarm installer licensing or eligibility

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
