Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Construction Labourer to join our team. This role involves supporting various construction projects, assisting skilled tradespeople, and performing general labor tasks on-site. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, the ability to follow instructions, and a willingness to learn new skills in a dynamic construction environment. Prior construction experience and familiarity with hand tools are highly valued.
Duties
- Assist with the preparation and clean-up of construction sites, including loading and unloading materials.
- Operate hand tools such as hammers, drills, and saws to support carpentry, framing, and other tasks.
- Support skilled tradespeople with tasks involving plumbing, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, caulking, and painting.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate work execution.
- Assist with restoration projects by removing debris and preparing surfaces for finishing work.
- Help with the installation of flooring, tiles, or other finishing materials as directed.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure work environment.
- Perform general site maintenance including cleaning work areas and organizing tools and materials.
Experience
- Previous experience in construction or related trades is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- Familiarity with hand tools and basic construction techniques is advantageous.
- Experience in carpentry, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, restoration work, or construction painting is a plus.
- Knowledge of plumbing or welding can be beneficial but is not mandatory.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions are essential for success in this role.
