Job Summary
Ancillary Services delivers various services to students as well as to the greater Dalhousie and business community including: on-campus residence, food services, university bookstores, conference services, off-campus housing listing service, university ID (DalCard) among others. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Facilities Operations, the Front Desk Supervisor provides front desk office duties for the LeMarchant Place residence.

Key Responsibilities
Greet and respond to inquiries from residents, visitors, maintenance personnel and others who enter LeMarchant Place.
Respond to safety and emergency situations (e.g. fire alarms, medical emergencies, security issues).
Ensure all paperwork pertaining to Front Desk is completed for room transfers and withdrawals. Ensure room check forms are completed by Residence Assistants.
Maintain master keys, keys and key cards. Responsible for inventory and tracking of all residence keys and key cards.
Maintain cash drawer and an additional float in quarters. Maintain records of income and expenditures and prepare deposits for Financial Services and Dalcard.
Hire, train and supervise 10-12 part-time student assistants for each academic year.

Note
Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.

Qualifications
Business or Office Administration diploma, plus three years’ related work experience preferably in a university environment (or equivalent combination of training and experience) is required. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization and time management skills are required. Experience with handling cash is required along with knowledge of effective cash controls. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook is vital to this role.
