White Birch Cafe & Bistro is looking for a strong, reliable, and passionate Kitchen Supervisorto join our growing team in Fernie.
We are searching for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, leads by example, and takes pride in delivering high-quality food and smooth daily service. Brunch and baking / pastry experience is a major asset, as our menu and guest experience place a strong focus on elevated café and brunch service.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong line skills with team leadership, organization, and a passion for hospitality.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a kitchen leadership or supervisory role
- Brunch and café-style service experience is a strong asset
- Strong line cooking, expo, and service management skills
- Ability to lead prep, service flow, and daily kitchen organization
- Experience with ordering, inventory, and waste control
- Ability to train, support, and motivate kitchen staff
- Strong understanding of food safety and cleanliness standards
- Calm, solutions-focused attitude in a high-volume environment
- Passion for quality ingredients and consistent execution
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations and service execution in absence of chef/owner
- Lead and support the kitchen team during prep and service
- Ensure consistency, plating standards, and ticket times are maintained
- Assist with brunch, lunch, and feature menu execution
- Help manage prep lists, pars, ordering, and inventory
- Support hiring, onboarding, and staff training
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety compliance
- Work closely with ownership and front-of-house leadership to improve systems and guest experience
