Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled carpenter to assist with light commercial projects on a project-by-project basis in the Nakiska area. This is a flexible contract opportunity, ideal for an experienced tradesperson who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. Candidates must be committed to safety, quality craftsmanship, and teamwork. On site accommodation is provided for the duration of the project, along with two meals per day.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of carpentry tasks including framing, finishing, and general construction
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
- Install structures and fixtures (e.g., doors, windows, cabinetry, trim)
- Participate in daily toolbox meetings and field level hazard assessments
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Assist with heavy lifting and material handling to ensure smooth workflow on-site
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects within specified timelines
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a carpenter (minimum 3–5 years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools
- Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to construction sites
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
