Position Summary
We are seeking an organized, professional, and patient-focused Medical Secretary to support a busy plastic surgery practice. The successful candidate will manage front-office operations, patient communication, scheduling, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day flow. Medical secretary roles commonly include scheduling, reception, phone coverage, records management, correspondence, and support with billing or referrals.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional manner.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Greet patients and manage front desk reception duties.
- Maintain accurate patient records and organize confidential files.
- Prepare correspondence, forms, letters, and other documents.
- Coordinate referrals, follow-ups, and communication with other offices when needed.
- Assist with OHIP billing, insurance forms, and other administrative tasks.
- Support physicians and clinic staff with general office duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, or physician’s office preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications is an asset.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and patient confidentiality practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional, reliable, and detail-oriented.
