RESPONSIBILITIES
- Completing work according to safe practices as instructed and as outlined in Proline Power’s Health and Safety Policy Manual and provincial safety regulations
- Mentoring apprentices
- Immediately reporting unsafe conditions and behaviors to their foremen or when, in their opinion, the work is imminently dangerous
- Using all safety devices required by this Health & Safety Manual and by provincial/federal safety regulations
- Participating in safety training and refuse to conduct work that they are not adequately trained for
- Reporting any incidents or injuries to their foreman immediately
- Becoming familiar with the safety rules and comply with them
- Complying with the operating procedures established by the employer and power producer
- Complying with procedures covering the application of protective grounding
- Making themselves aware of their responsibilities and duties under legislation
- Operating equipment/vehicles in a safe manner
- Refraining from causing or participating in harassment or violence
- Ensuring the health and safety of themselves and all other workers around them
- Refusing to carry out unsafe work or operate unsafe equipment/tools
QUALIFICATIONS
- Journeyman Certificate as a Power Line Technician
- Live line trained up to 25Kv
- Qualified to complete UG terminations up to 750mcm
- Valid Class 3 or Class 1 drivers license
- Knowledge in reading and understand Prints, SLD's, Locates, Permits & Approvals (Fortis Alberta Client experiance reccomended)
- Certified to operate a Digger Derricks and Bucket Truck
- Willing to work in extreme weather conditions and/or on weekends and holidays
- Strong English language skills both verbal and written
- Understanding of applicable codes and regulations
