Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Shipper/Receiver to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the shipping and receiving operations within our warehouse. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Shipper/Receiver will play a crucial role in ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently.
Duties
- Manage the shipping and receiving processes, ensuring all products are accounted for and properly documented.
- Operate forklifts and reach trucks to move materials within the warehouse safely.
- Utilize a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory levels and order fulfillment.
- Perform basic math calculations to verify quantities of products being shipped or received.
- Conduct quality checks on incoming shipments to ensure they meet company standards.
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and packing slips.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized warehouse environment.
- Assist in inventory management by conducting regular stock counts and reporting discrepancies.
- Utilize AS400 software for data entry related to shipping and receiving activities.
Experience
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse distribution is preferred.
- Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers is highly desirable.
- Experience with basic math skills for inventory management tasks.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
