Position: Wellness Coordinator
Site: Toronto General Hospital
Department: Wellness, Human Resources
Reports to: Manager, Workplace Wellness
Hours: 37.5 hrs/week
Salary: $29.39 to $36.73 per hour
Status: Temporary Full Time (3 month contract)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Wellness Coordinator exercises considerable judgment and independence in providing exemplary customer service and wellness program services at UHN. While based at TGH, the position will require delivery of service at alternate UHN sites. The incumbent will be drawing on their understanding and experience of wellness extending beyond fitness services.

Responsibilities include the design, development, implementation and evaluation of wellness programs and special events; creating promotional materials for wellness programs; promotion of wellness programs and education on wellness topics through a variety of different methods; including presentation/facilitation and directing assignments to wellness interns and volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:
Completion of a wellness certificate/health promotion diploma or equivalent – preferred
Completion of an undergraduate degree program – an asset
Minimum of three (3) years experience, developing, implementation, and evaluating of wellness programs that impact the whole health of individuals leading such as health diet, physical fitness, reducing health risks, resilience and stress reduction etc.,
At least 3 years experience providing fitness classes
Experience working in a health care/wellness environment preferred
Experience in developing and fostering client relationships at all levels of the organization
Ability to promote wellness solutions to leaders at UHN and collaborate to support leaders modeling for staff
Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills for large and small audiences as required to deliver services
Ability to make decisions within scope of responsibility with minimal supervision
Ability to work collaboratively with a small team to deliver solutions
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills – specifically listening and empathy
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and comfortable making presentations and large group wellness facilitation
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
Proficient in Microsoft office programs
Ability to work evenings and weekend (as required)
