Job Summary: The Line Cook will assist in the preparation and cooking of food items in accordance with established recipes and standards. This role involves working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, ensuring high-quality food presentation, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and contributing to a positive team atmosphere. The ideal candidate is a skilled and passionate culinary professional with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food preparation and cooking

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards

Ensure food is cooked to the correct temperature and presentation standards

Assist in the development of daily specials and new menu items
Kitchen Operations:
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Follow health and safety regulations, including proper rotation of ingredients

Assist in the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service
Inventory and Supplies:
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages to the Kitchen Management

Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation of ingredients

Minimize waste by utilizing ingredients efficiently
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations

Support fellow team members during busy service periods

Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment
Customer Service:

Respond to guest feedback and requests in a professional and courteous manner

Strive to exceed guest expectations with every dish prepared
Banquet-Specific Duties (as needed):

Support plated and buffet service for large groups (weddings, conferences, corporate events).

Assist in setting up and breaking down banquet kitchen stations.

Collaborate with banquet chefs and service teams for smooth service execution.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or similar role is a high-volume kitchen environment

Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred but not required

Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure with grace

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

In-depth knowledge of food and safety and sanitation standards

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences

Food Handler's certification required; Smart Serve certification is an asset
