The Supply Chain Manager is a key member of the operations leadership team that has accountability for negotiating agreements with suppliers to better manage operational expenses and raw material costs. The SCM will play a vital role in enabling strategic growth initiatives and supporting TB profitability. Leading by example, the SCM will streamline the TB sourcing process into a “one stop shop” in support of resale expansion initiatives.
We are looking for someone who will:
Develop, negotiate and administer purchasing agreements and contracts with suppliers in support of organizational requirements; monitoring compliance via supplier scorecard reviews;
Define and implement purchasing policies, procedures and best practices, lead the Purchasing Team in the development and execution of sourcing strategies;
Identify savings opportunities and negotiate with suppliers on prices and conditions that can translate into the best value for TB;
Expand and streamline the TB resale offering to include natural stone and installation materials/tools/supplies;
Attract, retain and develop a staff of extraordinary strategic sourcing professionals; manage performance through regular mentoring, feedback and review. Crosstrain self and team to ensure succession planning and backfill coverage up and down the Purchasing Organization;
Handle critical relationship management for key suppliers, interfacing at senior levels within the suppliers’ organizations to represent TB’s interests;
Actively engage in sustainable sourcing initiatives in alignment with Strategic Plans;
Partnering with Planning, Sales, IT, Finance and Plants/Depots to engrain resale products within the TB organization; pricing and margin, stocking and replenishment, obsolescence avoidance and inventory control;
Attend trade shows, conventions and events as appropriate; 25% travel is required;
Monitor ongoing compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, delegating through the Sourcing Organization, publishing KPI’s and continuous improvement actions;
Manage the supply risk by improving/building a strong supplier base in alignment with Company business objectives and values, and emerging product needs;
Manage supplier selection process based on price, quality, support, capacity and reliability.
Education and Experience
Five years’ experience in Purchasing and/or Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment required; APICS CPIM or SCM Certification highly desired;
BS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration or equivalent combination of life/work/military experience required;
Advanced skills using all Microsoft products, especially Excel;
Previous ERP experience required, MS AX, SAP or Oracle preferred;
Excellent negotiation, organization and time management skills required;
Working knowledge of laws and regulations relating to procurement and contracts;
