We are currently searching for an
Executive Chef to join our team. This is a full-time position supporting all five (5) of our Senior Living Communities in the Edmonton area.
Position Summary:
The
Executive Chef oversees all site kitchen operations and staff and ensures the quality of food preparation and service meets and exceeds Lifestyle Options standards. The
Executive Chef will establish culinary standards, procedures and site specific KPIs and monitor for compliance and results. The
Executive Chef will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining all kitchen inventories and adhering to sanitation standards as well as overall menu planning and any special kitchen-related projects. The
Executive Chef will provide backup on-site support in the absence of a Head Chef or during times of business need. The
Executive Chef will be a proven leader with exceptional communication skills and the ability to supervise and provide coaching, mentoring and direction to others.

What You Bring to the Role:
- Culinary Education Trade Papers, Red Seal or equivalent required.
- 10+ years of related experience in a high volume and commercial environment.
- Food and beverage management experience with demonstrated multi-site leadership.
- Thorough background in banquets, commercial settings, catering. Experience in Senior's Living preferred.
- Financial management skills including but not limited to budgeting, forecasting, scheduling and costing.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly within the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, people management and coaching skills.
Your Responsibilities:
- Coach and provide leadership to all Site Head Chefs, ensuring the training and development of staff, providing input for hiring, performance evaluations, disciplinary action and other personnel matters with the assistance of the Senior Leadership team.
- In collaboration with Site Managers and Head Chefs, establish site-specific department KPIs and monitor results, including but not limited to temperature charts, inventory storage and rotation, portion controls, cleaning and maintenance schedules, etc.
- Oversee and ensure that the quality of food preparation and service of food meets Lifestyle Options standards.
- Assist with design and project management of kitchen renovations and new builds.
- Accountable for menu planning including creating, developing, costing and implementing standardized recipes bi-annually.
- Minimize food costs by continuously seeking opportunities to increase food revenue, decrease kitchen expenses and maximize departmental productivity without compromising client satisfaction.
- Create and/or update all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all sites and roles to ensure standards are understood and consistently achieved.
- Provide backup on-site support to each Head Chef in their absence (ie. vacation) including ordering and assisting with daily activities.
- Coordinate outside catering functions, banquets and special events, as needed.
- Take an active role in the production and presentation of all food products to maintain the best quality food style possible while adhering to menu requirements and specifications.
- Attend and participate in site food committee meetings and resident meetings at each facility.
- Must be able to travel and work at all Lifestyle Options sites to provide culinary leadership, training, coaching and support, as required.
