Job Overview
M D Pools and Spa Inc. is seeking a reliable, motivated, and experienced Lifeguard to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and properly balanced swimming pools while providing excellent customer service at residential and commercial properties.
Applicants must have previous hands-on experience with swimming pool maintenance, including backwashing filtration systems, vacuuming pools, and testing and balancing pool water chemistry. Candidates should be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while maintaining high safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine pool maintenance and inspections
- Backwash sand and DE filtration systems
- Vacuum pools manually and/or using pool vacuums
- Test and balance pool chemistry (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, stabilizer, etc.)
- Add and safely handle pool chemicals as required
- Empty skimmer and pump baskets
- Clean pool surfaces, decks, and surrounding areas
- Identify and report equipment or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate service records
- Provide professional and courteous customer service
Qualifications
- Previous experience in pool maintenance is required
- Experience with backwashing, vacuuming, and pool water chemistry testing is required
- Valid Lifeguard certifications (National Lifeguard certification preferred)
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification
- Strong understanding of pool equipment and filtration systems
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are considered an asset
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
