Summary
'We are seeking a compassionate, skilled independent contract Registered Foot Care Nurse (RN or RPN) looking to expand his/her business by providing professional foot care services to clients in an apartment building in Ottawa one Friday every two months plus casual coverage at 18 additional locations, as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive foot assessments.
- Provide routine and advanced nursing foot care services, including:
- Nail trimming and reduction
- Callus and corn management
- Diabetic foot screening and monitoring
- Skin and circulation assessments
- Develop individualized care plans.
- Educate clients and caregivers on foot health, hygiene, and prevention strategies.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records.
- Identify and report concerns requiring referral to physicians, podiatrists, or other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection prevention and control standards.
- Maintain nursing standards in accordance with provincial regulations and professional guidelines
Qualifications
- Current registration in good standing as an RN or RPN in Ontario.
- Strong infection control measures.
- Strong clinical and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team player.
- Experience providing foot care in community, retirement, or long-term care settings.
- Experience working with diabetic, geriatric, or high-risk populations.
- Completion of a recognized Foot Care Nursing certification program.
- Professional liability insurance.
- Current CPR certification.
- Access to a reliable vehicle and willingness to travel within the Ottawa area (preferred).
