Field Project Coordinator – Industrial Construction
Job Overview
Vault Group is seeking a Field Project Coordinator – Industrial Construction to support active industrial construction projects.
This is a field-based role that requires rotational on-site shift work. Project locations will change as projects start and end. Between active projects, the role is based out of Vault Group’s Calgary office.
Rotation schedules and site remoteness vary by project. Flights and accommodation are provided for remote work, with rotation uplift paid in addition to base salary.
The successful candidate will have 2–4 years of construction field experience and be comfortable independently coordinating an assigned scope on site with minimal direction.
Salary
CA$90,000–$110,000 per year, based on experience.
Rotation uplift is paid in addition to base salary for eligible project assignments. Flights and accommodation are provided for remote project work.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project management, site supervision, and quality control teams with cost control, scheduling, procurement, material management, and turnover documentation.
- Independently manage coordination activities for an assigned project scope.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and project documents to support field crews and site supervision.
- Complete quantity calculations, takeoffs, progress tracking, and production reporting.
- Prepare and maintain work plans, work packages, job hazard assessments, as-built data, quality records, and turnover documentation.
- Coordinate material deliveries, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and project resources within assigned scopes.
- Track project progress, quantities, materials, and field production.
- Support procurement activities, including material requests, deliveries, expediting, inventory coordination, and documentation.
- Participate in estimating activities and provide input on historical data, project risks, takeoffs, and constructability.
- Maintain organized project records and support timely reporting from site.
- Communicate with project managers, site supervisors, crews, subcontractors, vendors, and clients as required.
- Ensure documentation within assigned scopes remains current, accurate, and aligned with project requirements.
- Support basic safety compliance within assigned scopes, including keeping JHAs and safety documentation current in coordination with HSE.
Requirements
- Engineering degree or technical diploma in a construction, engineering, or related field.
- 2–4 years of construction field experience.
- Experience in oil and gas, mining, industrial construction, utilities, piping, civil construction, or remote project work is considered an asset.
- Comfortable working rotational on-site shifts.
- Willing and able to travel to changing project locations as work is awarded and completed.
- Able to work in both field and office environments.
- Working knowledge of scheduling, cost control, material management, procurement, estimating, and project documentation.
- Ability to manage an assigned scope day to day with minimal direction.
- Strong planning, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work closely with project managers, site supervision, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
- Valid driver’s licence required.
