Summary:
Nu-west Construction Products is the largest Canadian distributor of commercial and industrial HVAC Insulation products in Canada. Nu-west has quadrupled in size over the past two years and is looking for a Production Operator to work with our fabrication team in North Burnaby. The production operator will be reporting to the production team lead and the Production Manager.
Position Responsibility :
- Cutting, grinding and gluing high density foam pipe insulation
- Review the daily work schedule with the production team lead.
- Understand and follow production fabrication routes as directed.
- Operating CNC machines, band saws & router/grinding machines
- Material handling, trimming and boxing finished materials.
- Counting and correct labeling of materials.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a fabrication environment would be beneficial.
- Able to work well independently in a fast paced loud enviroment
- very good math skills and read a tape measure.
- Safety conscious and promote safety awareness.
- A high school diploma.
- Understand Imperial measurements.
- Able to communicate effectively in English.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Familiar & comfortable using basic power tools
- Comfortable operating large bandsaws, hot glue machines & CNC machines.
Starting wage: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on abilities
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Monday to Friday (7:30 to 4pm (8hrs) starting a afternoo shift in the future.
