Role Overview
The Store Manager is responsible for the overall operation, profitability, and customer experience of the store. This is a hands-on role for someone who can lead a small team, keep the store running smoothly, and grow our presence online and in-person.
Key Responsibilities
1. Store Operations & Leadership
- Daily Operations: Open and close the store, including cash handling, POS reconciliation, and securing premises
- Customer Experience: Lead by example to deliver warm, knowledgeable service and resolve customer issues
- Visual Standards: Maintain merchandising, cleanliness, signage, and displays to brand standard
- Health, Safety & Loss Prevention: Ensure compliance with Ontario Health & Safety, AODA customer service standards, and loss prevention procedures
- 2. Team Management, Scheduling & Performance
- Scheduling: Create and post monthly staff schedules, manage time-off requests, shift swaps, and ensure coverage
- Hiring & Training: Recruit, onboard, and train new staff on products, service, POS, and store policies
- Performance Reviews: Conduct regular check-ins, 90-day and annual performance reviews, provide coaching, feedback, and documentation for performance issues
- Culture: Foster a positive, accountable team environment with clear communication and daily huddles
3. Social Media & Local Marketing
- Content Creation: Plan, photograph, and create engaging posts, Stories, and Reels for facebook
- Posting & Engagement: Schedule posts, write captions in brand voice, respond to comments and DMs in a timely manner
- In-Store Marketing: Help coordinate promotions, events, and partnerships with other local businesses
- 4. Sales, Inventory & Administration Qualifications
- Sales Goals: Drive sales, meet targets, and report on daily/weekly performance
- Inventory: Manage stock levels, receiving, price changes, inventory counts
- Admin: Handle reporting, payroll hours submission, expense tracking, and maintain employee and operational records
- Problem Solving: Handle unexpected issues calmly — from staffing gaps to system issues
- Experience: 2+ years in retail, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or keyholder role; small business experience a strong asset
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a small team
- Skills: Strong organization, time management, customer service, and basic computer/POS skills
- Marketing: Comfortable creating social media content on a phone, writing captions, and engaging online
- Requirements: Able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and work a flexible schedule including weekends
- Bonus: Experience with lightspeed, or forklift licence.

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per year
