Job Overview:
- The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design and execution of expansion and maintenance capital projects delivered by external engineering service providers. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, Enbridge’s specifications, and operational reliability requirements while maintaining adherence to project budgets and schedules.

The incumbent collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders to translate technical and business requirements into efficient, cost-effective engineering solutions and drive successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage relationships with engineering service providers, including contract administration and performance oversight.

Ensure external engineering partners deliver high-quality outputs aligned with project objectives and company standards.

Lead comprehensive design reviews involving internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry codes, and company standards, including:

Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
-
Operability and constructability considerations
-
Drive continuous improvement by integrating lessons learned into future project designs.

Oversee material specification and procurement processes by:
-
Reviewing vendor quotations
-
Conducting technical bid evaluations
-
Recommending suppliers based on technical merit, cost, and delivery timelines

Collaborate with Supply Chain teams to facilitate procurement through internal systems.

Develop and manage schedules for engineering design and procurement phases.

Support project development activities, including:

Scope definition
-
Cost estimation
-
Risk assessment
-
Execution planning
-
Provide technical expertise throughout all project phases, including development, construction, and commissioning.

Ensure engineering firms update and incorporate red-line markups into final as-built drawings.

Maintain accurate and complete project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Support Operations teams during post-handover phases, including incident investigations.
-
Review past project performance and implement lessons learned to enhance future outcomes.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.

Support departmental initiatives, ensuring compliance with business objectives and applicable regulations.

Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.

Professional Engineer (PE) designation.
-
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in engineering system design and commissioning within the oil and gas industry.

Strong communication skills with the ability to operate independently as a professional engineer.

Extensive project management and/or field experience.
