Job Description
The Purchasing Lead is a key member of Evolution AV's management team, responsible for leading our procurement function end to end. This is a true player/coach role: you will manage, coach, and develop our team of four Buyers who handle day-to-day purchasing, while personally owning our most complex and strategic procurement work. You will set the direction for how we source products, manage vendors, and measure purchasing performance across the organization. The ideal candidate is an experienced procurement professional and proven people leader — astute, analytical, and a skilled negotiator who is ready to build and lead a high-performing team.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of four Buyers responsible for day-to-day purchasing
- Own all aspects of people management for the purchasing team, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and termination decisions
- Set clear KPIs and performance targets for the team, monitor results, and hold the team accountable
- Prioritize workload, assign purchasing responsibilities, and remove roadblocks so the team can deliver
- Serve as an active member of the management team, contributing to company-wide planning and decision-making
Procurement & Vendor Strategy:
- Personally handle the most complex and high-value purchases, including specialized equipment, materials, and services
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives related to vendors, sourcing, and procurement processes
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements with key vendors and suppliers
- Investigate and cultivate new sources of supply, and build strong, long-term vendor relationships
- Collaborate with department managers to clarify purchase requirements, identify departmental needs, and refine specifications
- Research and prepare bid specifications, issue bid requests, and secure the most competitive quotes
- Ensure purchasing decisions and transactions comply with company procedures and applicable policies and regulations
- Monitor procurement performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and continuously improve purchasing processes
- Resolve escalated order and supplier issues in an efficient and timely manner

Skills and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of progressive purchasing or procurement experience; experience in audio-visual, electronics, technology, or distribution is a strong asset
- Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising a purchasing team strongly preferred
- SCMP, C.P.P., or equivalent supply chain designation preferred
- Experience setting KPIs and managing vendor performance
- Proficiency with ERP/purchasing systems and strong Excel skills
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
The chosen candidate will be required to set up reference calls with past supervisors or bosses.
