Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to efficiently manage inventory and support warehouse operations. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment. The Forklift Operator will play a vital role in maintaining smooth warehouse flow and ensuring accurate order fulfillment.
Duties
- Safely operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and order pickers to move, load, and unload goods within the warehouse
- Perform order picking with precision using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning
- Assist with inventory management by organizing stock and ensuring accurate placement of products
- Utilize basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities during operations
- Support heavy lifting tasks as needed while adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse environment
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries
Experience
- Prior experience operating forklifts, clamp trucks, and order pickers in a warehouse distribution setting is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge or background is a plus for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for order processing and inventory control
- Basic math skills for accurate order picking and inventory counts
- Experience with heavy lifting and working in physically demanding environments is desirable
- Knowledge of safety standards related to forklift operation and warehouse safety regulations
