The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly organized and sharp Project Manager / Construction Coordinator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will lead project flow, managing critical documentation from initial shop drawings to final inspection. If you have strong construction experience and thrive on precision, organization, and stakeholder coordination, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Submittal Management: Manage, track, and maintain the shop drawing coordination process and comprehensive submittal logs.
- Drawing Control: Oversee the review, coordination, and distribution of project drawings and shop drawings between consultants and subtrades.
- Procurement: Draft, issue, and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Inspection Management: Schedule, coordinate, and attend site inspections with city officials, engineers, and building inspectors.
- Stakeholder Integration: Act as the central point of contact for consulting teams, municipal authorities, trades, and site supervisors.
- Reporting & Documentation: Compile and draft comprehensive project reports, meeting minutes, and RFI tracking logs.
- Site Support: Partner with site supervisors to ensure field operations match approved drawings and contractual obligations. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Proven project coordination or management experience within the Canadian construction industry.
- Technical Savvy: Strong ability to read, interpret, and cross-reference construction drawings and shop drawings.
- Organizational Mastery: Meticulous attention to detail with a track record of managing complex schedules, paperwork, submittal logs, and purchase orders.
- Communication: Professional verbal and written communication skills to effectively manage relationships with cities, consultants, and trades.
- Drive: Highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of driving project deliverables to completion.
