SUMMER STUDENT POSITION
The John Howard Society of Sudbury is an organization of citizens who accept responsibility for understanding and dealing with the problems of crime and the criminal justice system. We STOP Crime Now ! TM through many varied programs and services.
We have been serving people for sixty years in Sudbury and are part of a world wide organization which began in England over two hundred and twenty years ago. We presently have an opening for the following position.
COMMUNITY SERVICE WORKER
(30 hours per week from June 29, 2026 – August 28, 2026)
The successful candidate will be working in our direct service programs. Responsibilities include organizing and chairing case conferences, teaching and modeling resiliency skills and behaviour strategies and brokering and advocating for services as required. Some of the preferred qualifications include:
- Diploma in a human service field
- Ability to work evenings twice per week
- Ability to speak a second language such as French or Ojibway
- Experience working with high risk populations
- Good mediation and collaboration skills

This is a summer contract position, with a firm end date. The hourly rate for this position is $18.60 per hour. The successful candidate may be required to share office space.
