Registered Nurse (RN) reports to the Director of Care and is expected to coordinate and oversee all aspects of resident focused delivery of care. Registered Nurse should also promote the values, goals, and philosophy of the Home.
Wage Rate:
The starting wage rate is $36.06/hour.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify care plans based on residents' individual healthcare needs and
changes in health status.
- Liaise with other healthcare personnel, agencies, and families.
- Maintain positive relationships with team members, residents, families, and the general public.
- Engage in meaningful interactions with residents throughout your shift.
- Supervise all unit activities, taking charge as required.
- Monitor performance and complete evaluations for Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs).
- Direct, assign, and evaluate the work of PSWs and RPNs.
- Act as the designated person in charge for the Home when necessary, applying strong leadership to identify and resolve unit-level challenges.
- Monitor that care delivery aligns with the Resident Bill of Rights.
- Understand the nature and meaning of the Home's quality indicators, including those publicly reported.
- Participate in improving these indicators to achieve satisfactory results.
- Actively listen to resident and family concerns, taking appropriate action to resolve issues in accordance with Home policies.
- Conduct unit rounds at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Process physician orders and administer medications and treatments in compliance with pharmacy provider policies, Home policies, and College of Nurses Standards.
- Document and report all errors and omissions
- Maintain accurate and complete records of nursing observations and care, adhering to legislative requirements and Home policies.
- Assess changes in health status and report them to the Substitute Decision Maker (SDM) or Power of Attorney (POA), and the interdisciplinary team.
- Complete healthcare assessments (e.g., RAI-MDS), and develop and update individual care plans in collaboration with the resident and/or SDM and the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate understanding of the Ministry of Long-Term Care's mandatory reporting and critical incident protocols, following steps outlined in Home policies.
- Inspire others to be motivated, work with passion, and empower team members
- Perform any other assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
The qualifications needed to join our family are as follows:
- Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario as Registered Nurse or a Registered Nurse registered with a regulatory authority in a Canadian jurisdiction, other than Ontario, and holds in that jurisdiction the equivalent of a certificate of registration authorizing independent practice in Ontario as of right exemption Bill 60
- Basic CPR
- Experience in long-term care setting an asset
- Ability to work with and relate to interdisciplinary team members
- Ability to work from the heart and make others smile
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of RAI – AIS certified, if not must be completed successfully within one (1) year of being hired.
- Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen, no older than 6 months, TB test results less than 6 months old, must be able to provide three supervisory references.
