Job Summary
We are an International Ironworkers Local 721 member company seeking a skilled Commercial/Industrial Door & Dock Mechanic with 1-2 years experience to join our team. This role involves installing, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of commercial and industrial doors, docks, and related equipment. This role suits individuals who can work independently or within a small team and are willing to respond to on-call calls and occasional out-of-town travel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in overhead doors and/or docks and related equipment and a strong mindset for troubleshooting. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, ensuring safety and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial doors, dock levelers, and related equipment.
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform precise adjustments and repairs
- Read and interpret schematics, and technical diagrams for proper installation and troubleshooting
- Perform small welding tasks
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues with doors and dock equipment to minimize downtime
- Participate in a rotational on-call schedule for 24 hour service
- Follow safety protocols during all phases of installation and repair work
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used for each project
- Occasional out-of-town work
- A strong work ethic, and pride in workmanship

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in overhead door & dock repairs and installation
- Valid Ontario Driver's License
- Proven experience with hand tools, construction, schematics, and tack/joint welding
- Knowledge of commercial/industrial door systems and dock equipment
- Ability to read technical diagrams accurately
- Strong mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and safety standards
- Ability to work independently or as part of a small team in various environments
- Prior experience in construction or related trades is highly desirable
- Working on ladders and sky lifts
- Proficient in reading/writing/speaking English

Pay: $26.37-$42.60 per hour
