We are looking for a Real Estate Lawyer who is ambitious, ready to step outside the box, and become a key member of our firm. The ideal lawyer is open-minded and willing to buy in to the values of our mission statement to Educate, Protect & Expedite.
Position: Real Estate Lawyer
Compensation: $85,000 - $110,000
Expected Start date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities:
· Handle all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions, including power of sales and private lending
· Review complex loan commitments and other financial documents
· Review and handle lender solicitor instructions
· Draft legal documents in areas including corporate law, real estate law and securities law
· Liaise with clients, lawyers, and brokers
· Order and negotiate title insurance policies
· Draft and complete wills and power of attorneys
· Commission and notarize documents
· Responsible to complete all closings, review title searches, register transactions and documents
· Meet with clients to review documentation, prepare reporting letters, and prepare other transactional documents
· Stay abreast of industry standards and business trends through participation in professional workshops, practicing communities & individual learning
· Monitor and keep track of trigger dates
· Treat each client with the highest standard of client care, including educating clients by patiently explaining closing documents, trust ledgers, fees, etc.
· Meet clients with a positive attitude and adhere to the firm’s strict policies when it comes to client care and its mission statement to Educate, Protect & Expedite
· Ensure confidentiality of all client information
· Other tasks/projects assigned from time to time
Qualifications:
· Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
· 3+ years work experience at a real estate law practice, high volume preferred
· Must be organized and possess excellent time management skills
· Experience in areas of lending, family law, estates, litigation are a plus but not required
· An entrepreneurial spirit and proven success in building relationships
· Strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
· Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
· Excellent computer skills and use of Microsoft Office 365, specifically Word and Outlook
· Must type minimum 50 WPM
· Strong working knowledge of Teraview and other software pertinent to the position
· Must own a vehicle and have full access at all times
Work Schedule:
· Monday to Friday from 9:00am 5:30pm, but MUST be flexible to work evenings and weekends on closings for clients if required
· Must be willing and able to complete remote closings for clients who require such services
